LOMEXIN, 200 mg, vaginal soft capsules, 3 caps
LOMEXIN contains fenticonazole nitrate. Fenticonazole is an antifungal medicine that inhibits the growth of some types of fungi and kills some types of fungi. It is particularly good at killing the causative agent of thrush - Candida albicans .
LOMEXIN is used to treat inflammation of the external genitalia and vagina (thrush) caused by fungi. If your condition has not improved or even worsened within 3 days, consult a doctor.
What you need to know before you take LOMEXIN
LOMEXIN should not be used:
if you are allergic to fenticonazole nitrate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking LOMEXIN.
Special precautions are required:
if you use the drug for a long time, you may become allergic to it;
if you develop an allergy to this medicine, you should stop using it and inform your doctor about it, who will decide what is best to do next;
if you use barrier contraception, such as condoms or diaphragms, you should not use LOMEXIN; fatty excipients and oils contained in vaginal soft capsules may damage latex barrier contraceptives.
For children
LOMEXIN is not used to treat children.
Other medicines and LOMEXIN
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, or if you are not sure.
The interaction of vaginal capsules with other drugs is unlikely.
Pregnancy, lactation and fertility
If you are pregnant, breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.
Use of LOMEXIN during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not recommended.
Driving and machine control
LOMEXIN does not affect the ability to drive or use machines.
LOMEXIN contains sodium ethyl parahydroxybenzoate (E215) and sodium propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E217).
May cause allergic reactions which may be delayed.
How to take LOMEXIN
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
One 200 mg vaginal soft capsule is used three days in a row (symptoms may disappear quickly, but the drug must be taken for the entire specified time) or one 600 mg vaginal soft capsule once. The vaginal capsule should be inserted into the vagina before going to bed.
LOMEXIN is for vaginal use only.
How to insert a vaginal capsule?
Lie down, bend your knees and spread your legs. Push the vaginal capsule into the vagina as deep as possible, but not enough to cause discomfort.
Always wash your hands with warm water and mild soap after inserting the vaginal capsule.
If the condition does not improve, worsens or the thrush recurs, consult a doctor.
What to do if you take too much LOMEXIN?
If LOMEXIN is accidentally swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
