Basic information about Famotidine Ranigast Famotidine Ranigast is a medicine for heartburn and indigestion intended for adults. Action and properties Famotidine Ranigast contains famotidine, which belongs to a group of medicines called H2 receptor antagonists. It inhibits the secretion of hydrochloric acid in the stomach. The effect of the drug lasts for 10 to 12 hours. Application/indications The indication for the use of the drug is short-term symptomatic treatment of stomach ailments not related to an organic disease of the gastrointestinal tract, such as: indigestion (dyspepsia), heartburn, hyperacidity. Ingredients The active substance is famotidine. Each tablet contains 20 mg of famotidine. Ranigast dosage Adults: if symptoms occur, the usual dose is 1 tablet of 20 mg daily. If the symptoms recur, you can take 1 tablet of 20 mg twice a day. The daily dose of the drug should not exceed 40 mg (2 tablets). Contraindications Do not use if the patient is allergic to famotidine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine, if the patient is allergic to other H2 receptor antagonists or suffers from renal failure. Side effects/side effects Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
