What Rehydron Optim is and what it is used for\u003cbr\u003eRehydron Optim is used:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eto eliminate mild or moderate dehydration associated with acute diarrhea (to compensate for the loss of water and salts in the body);\u003cbr\u003efor the prevention of dehydration.\u003cbr\u003eIf acute diarrhea occurs, there is a risk of dehydration (loss of fluid and salts). Rehydron Optim solution replaces fluid and salts lost due to normal diarrhea. The sugar in the preparation promotes the absorption of water and salts in the intestines, while the citrate corrects acid-base imbalances in the body.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e2. What you need to know before using Rehydron Optim powder for oral solution\u003cbr\u003eRehydron Optim should not be used:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eif you are allergic to glucose, sodium chloride, sodium citrate, potassium chloride or any of the excipients of this medicine (listed in section 6);\u003cbr\u003eif there is severe dehydration;\u003cbr\u003eif the patient is unconscious (possible suffocation);\u003cbr\u003eif there is shock (possible suffocation);\u003cbr\u003eif there is intestinal obstruction;\u003cbr\u003eif you vomit a lot.\u003cbr\u003eWarnings and precautions\u003cbr\u003eTalk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Rehydron Optim.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHaving a kidney disease that reduces the amount of urine excreted or does not produce it at all.\u003cbr\u003eThere is narrowing of the gastrointestinal tract.\u003cbr\u003eHas diabetes.\u003cbr\u003eLiver or kidney disease.\u003cbr\u003eThe amount of sodium or potassium in food is controlled.\u003cbr\u003eHave any other chronic disease.\u003cbr\u003eThere is blood in the stool.\u003cbr\u003eDiarrhea (even mild) lasts more than 2 days.\u003cbr\u003eThere is severe abdominal pain.\u003cbr\u003eChanged mental status (eg, irritability, apathy, or drowsiness).\u003cbr\u003eYou have developed a fever (over 39°C).\u003cbr\u003eIf dehydration is severe, oral rehydration may not be sufficient: intravenous rehydration may be necessary. If you or your child has severe dehydration caused by diarrhea or vomiting, consult a doctor. Symptoms of severe dehydration include rapid heartbeat, difficulty breathing, fever, extreme tiredness, muscle cramps, headache, nausea, tingling in hands and feet, vomiting, confusion, seizures, and loss of consciousness.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn infants, acute diarrhea can cause dehydration that quickly worsens the patient's condition. If the baby has diarrhea and dehydration caused by any reason, it is necessary to consult a doctor as soon as possible.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOther medicines and Rehydron Optim diarrhea medicine\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, or if you are not sure.\u003cbr\u003eThere are no data on possible interactions with other drugs. Diarrhea can impair the absorption of many drugs.\u003cbr\u003ePregnancy and breastfeeding\u003cbr\u003eRehydron Optim can be used in recommended doses during pregnancy and breastfeeding.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDriving and using machines\u003cbr\u003eRehydron Optim does not affect the ability to drive and use machines.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRehydron Optim contains potassium and glucose\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMust be taken into account if kidney function is impaired or dietary potassium is controlled.\u003cbr\u003eIf you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some carbohydrates, contact your doctor before taking this medicine.\u003cbr\u003e3. How to use Rehydron Optim\u003cbr\u003eAlways take Rehydron Optim exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHow to prepare Rehydron Optim solution\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe powder contained in one packet of Rehydron Optim should be dissolved in half a liter of lukewarm water. After reconstitution, the solution is ready for use. The prepared solution is opaque, colorless, lemon-scented.\u003cbr\u003eRehydron Optim powder must be dissolved in the right amount of water (0.5 liters) in order to eliminate the fluid imbalance in the body optimally. If the powder is dissolved in not enough water, too much salt may be consumed.\u003cbr\u003eRehydron Optim powder must not be dissolved in any liquid except water.\u003cbr\u003eHow to use Rehydron Optim, an antidiarrheal preparation\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRehydron Optim solution is taken orally. If necessary, the solution can be administered through a nasogastric tube under the supervision of a physician.\u003cbr\u003eIt is safe to take Rehydron Optim quickly, but vomiting may occur. If you or your child develop nausea or vomiting, the solution should be cooled and given in small repeated doses (eg using a teaspoon, syringe or dosing cup). Do not exceed the recommended dose, unless prescribed by a doctor.\u003cbr\u003eIf the diarrhea is mild, you or your child can drink any liquids and eat any food: it is necessary to continue the usual age-appropriate diet.\u003cbr\u003eNo food can be consumed during replacement therapy (during the first 4 hours), but normal breastfeeding can be continued.\u003cbr\u003eDosage\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTreatment of mild to moderate dehydration, i.e. normalization of fluid levels after dehydration associated with diarrhoea\u003cbr\u003eReplacement treatment is started if you or your child develop symptoms of mild to moderate dehydration, such as decreased urine output, dry mucous membranes, cold hands and feet, fatigue, general weakness, muscle cramps and\/or weight loss.\u003cbr\u003eIf your or your child's body weight has decreased and\/or mild or moderate dehydration has been diagnosed during the medical examination, the usual required dose of Rehydron Optim solution is ½-1 dl\/kg of body weight. As a rule, Rehydron Optim does not need to be treated for more than 3-4 days, but its use should be stopped after the diarrhea disappears. These symptoms are more common in patients with impaired kidney function.\u003cbr\u003eIf you have any further questions about the use of this medicine, ask your pharmacist.\u003cbr\u003e4. Possible side effects\u003cbr\u003eRehydron Optim medicine, like all others, can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.\u003cbr\u003eRehydron Optim used in recommended doses should not cause side effects.
