If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor adults\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor chronic alcohol poisoning and alcohol-induced liver disease, the recommended daily dose is two 500 mg tablets.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor elderly people\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eElderly people can be treated with METADOXIL safely, there is no need to change the dose.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor patients with impaired liver function\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor liver disease such as alcoholic liver disease, the recommended dose of METADOXIL can be used. Patients with severe liver dysfunction are advised not to take this medicine for a long time.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor patients with impaired renal function\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere is no experience of treatment with METADOXIL in patients with impaired renal function. Given the fact that the drug is partially excreted from the body through the kidneys, these patients are advised to reduce the dose and not to take this drug for a long time.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUse in children and adolescents\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMETADOXIL is not recommended for use in children and adolescents, as safety and effectiveness have not been studied for them\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDuration of treatment\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf the condition has improved after 7 days of using METADOXIL, the treatment can be continued for 2-3 months if necessary. It can be continued up to 6 months after consultation with the doctor.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhat to do if you overdose on METADOXIL?\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCases of overdose are unknown.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf you have taken too much METADOXIL at once, contact your doctor immediately or go to the nearest hospital.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf you forget to take METADOXIL\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDo not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhen you stop taking METADOXIL\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMETADOXIL works as long as it is used. Its effects disappear quickly when it is stopped.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf you have any further questions about the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePossible side effects\u003cbr\u003eLike all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYou may experience the side effects listed below.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eVery rare (may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people):\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eallergic reactions (hypersensitivity);\u003cbr\u003enumbness, tingling, tenderness and weakness in the hands and feet (peripheral neuropathy).
