Mucosolvan® contains the expectorant ambroxol. It changes the bronchial secretion so that the removal of mucus is optimized with or without coughing.

Mucosolvan® with Ambroxol is therefore particularly recommended when there is an acute or chronic inflammation of the trachea and bronchi with thick mucus. It has a secretolytic effect, which means that Ambroxol normalizes the viscous mucus where the cilia are responsible for its transport.
It has a secretomotor effect, which means that Ambroxol activates the ciliated epithelium. This increases the strength of the cilia and the secretion is transported away more quickly and effectively.
It promotes the natural formation of surfactant. Surfactant is a substance produced by the body that plays a crucial role in the self-cleaning of the lungs. Surfactant helps prevent foreign particles, including viruses and bacteria, from settling on the mucous membrane.
