Zovirax® DUO is the only over-the-counter cold sore cream that contains an antiviral agent (aciclovir) and an anti-inflammatory agent (hydrocortisone).

Good to know: Apply Zovirax® DUO at the first signs such as tingling, tightness or itching. The earlier you start treatment, the better the chances are that blisters and crusts will not form in the first place.
Common cold sore triggers include: emotional stress, exhaustion, tiredness, hormonal changes, intense UV radiation, cold and dry weather, flu and cold.
Mandatory information:
Zovirax® DUO 50 mg/g / 10 mg/g cream. Active ingredients: acyclovir, hydrocortisone. Areas of application: Treatment of early signs and symptoms of recurrent herpes labialis (cold sores) to reduce the progression of cold sore episodes to ulcerative lesions in immunocompetent adults and adolescents (12 years and older). Warning: Contains cetostearyl alcohol, propylene glycol and sodium dodecyl sulfate. Pharmacy required. As of: 07/2018. Application
Areas of application: Zovirax® DUO cream is used to treat early signs (e.g. tingling, itching or redness) of cold sores to reduce the risk of the cold sores reaching the vesicle stage. Can speed up healing if a blister still occurs.
Application:
Apply to affected areas 5 times a day for 5 days
It is recommended to start treatment as soon as possible
Wash hands before and after treatment
Do not use for longer than 5 days. Contact your doctor if your symptoms persist 5 days after the end of treatment.
